The whole idea of a blog first came to me in college after realizing I do not need to be blowing up my friends feeds with my song of the day.
But . . . what if there was a place where people looking for new music could stumble upon and find some random humans diverse taste in music via . . . a blog.
Let’s throw it back to Taylor circa 2011. I mean, it only seems right considering I just updated one of my social media profile pics to a Photo Booth one in loving memory of the MySpace days.
“Cool awesome amazing story, Taylor.”
I know, I know . . . a bit scatterbrained.
BUT to be fair I haven’t yet had a sip of the
holy water of every writer that is coffee.
SO ANYWAYS Mac Miller is a guy.
He’s a guy who’s music and career I’ve followed for the last 8-9 years of my life, and to say it’s been a journey is one hell of an understatement.
He’s abused drugs, dealt with depression and the likings; all which came through his lyrics from album to mixtape.
He dropped his third studio album, “Swimming”, last Friday.
He’s been off social media for a year until a month or so out of the release day,
and he’s taking his time getting back into it (for publicity-sake).
I don’t need to fill you in on his life; you can read that via Rolling Stone here (and you really should).
But . . . he had an NPR Tiny Desk Concert uploaded to YouTube for the world to see yesterday; announcing this via his social channels just the night before.
AND TO GET TO THE POINT . . . Here’s that concert.
3 songs off the new album; the last one being m a g i c.
Enjoy, or don’t (but it’d be a lot cooler if you did).
